Thanks for dropping by. The
products we feature are both fun and educational for the whole
family! They truly take you back in time and bring back wonderful
memories of our famous Route 66.
Because we were Children of
The Mother Road, we knew her very well and had the greatest
respect for her. We lived less than 40 feet from her edge
and knew, as children, You don't mess with The Mother Road!!!

Remember the man who said,
"I never met a man I didn't like."
That was Will Rogers.
His museum is in Claremore, Oklahoma, about 30 minutes from
Tulsa, here in Green Country.
Will Rogers' nephew defeated another special
person for Oklahoma Senator. That person is my cousin's, husband,
John Wilkerson, Jr. He had been in the Oklahoma House of Representatives
and the Senate for several years.
(We hope you don't mind this personal bit of information,
but it makes us feel very proud!)

Being a Child of the
Mother Road, these products mean more to me than you
could ever imagine. Our parents felt that it was special having
a dairy farm and, later on, a general store on Route
66. Even though a few have said to me, "What were
they thinking, living so close to such a dangerous highway?" we
knew. It had to do with more than surviving. It was
all about "making it" with their young family. God bless
my mama and my daddy! They were only in their early 30's when
they started out on Route 66.

ROUTE 66 WATER
8 X 10 in TIN SIGN
|
I can remember our family getting
in the car and heading out west. Those were the
days when the adults talked more about the record time they
made it in to all their destinations than what they actually
saw and did along the way. Even so, we managed to do
a lot of sight seeing. The Petrified Forest (See
Art Print above.) and miles and miles of highway will
stay in my mind forever. I can remember the signs like
this one, and how they scared me. I would say things
like - "We have to stop or we'll run out of gas out here in
middle of nowhere and not have any water or food and maybe
even die!" My smiling parents would always assure me
that there were more stops along the way and not to worry. Sure
enough, there always were, but I still always wondered ..........

We love this print, as it symbolizes a
big reason that Route 66 was built back in the 20's. That
reason was to provide the people with a faster way to travel
both east and west. Route 66 opened up the whole nation
to ALL people bringing more opportunity to the lives
of all Americans!
